Hello, this is Frank.

After decades of life experience, I have never seen a ruling or opposition party so lacking in vision and appeal.

With vague, low-level slogans like “Overthrow the XX administration,” the opposition has little chance of ever seizing power. It feels like they are insulting the intelligence of the citizens.

Emerging political parties are also all about logic but lack passion.

Before focusing on “numbers,” we must prioritize “talent.” It is critical to nurture statesmen — politicians who think about the nation’s interests, not just mere politicians — with a clear vision looking 5 to 10 years ahead.

I cannot believe that simply aiming for short-term election victories is equivalent to serving the national interest. Today’s politicians have become bureaucratic and risk-averse. Anyone can become a politician if that is the standard.

In the next election, I plan to vote for a party with unwavering people who work with conviction. Japan needs leaders who can passionately discuss world peace and national security, including presentation skills on the global stage, and who can view Japan from a broad perspective.
