Hello, this is Frank.
The keyword we’re spotlighting today—“Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigation Division”—is also the title of a new drama series aired by TV Asahi in Japan.
For context, this elite division is part of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, responsible for major crimes such as homicide, armed robbery, assault, kidnapping, hostage situations, arson, and sexual offenses.
This same division inspired a key character in my social mystery novel The Scarlet Secret. While not strictly a detective novel, the story unfolds within a mid-sized Japanese trading company. Still, I remember diving deep into police organizational structures to bring realism to my fiction—even as an amateur.
