Hello, this is Frank.

Let me take you back to something that happened just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

It was lunchtime, and I was at a Japanese restaurant waiting for my udon set to arrive. Suddenly, one of the two men seated to my left shouted, “What the hell is this!?

At first, I thought, “Oh no, is he ‘that’ kind of customer?” But what I saw next left me completely stunned.

Out of the rice ball he had ordered… a piece of cloth—like something torn from an old cleaning rag—was sticking out.

“What is going on here!?” he yelled again, clearly shocked.

The waitress and cook rushed over to apologize. Within minutes, they brought him a replacement rice ball.

Needless to say, his meal was comped. But as for me? The sight of that cloth killed my appetite entirely.

So here’s a friendly tip: when you’re eating a rice ball at a restaurant, don’t just take a big bite. Split it in half first—you never know what might be inside.

No matter how delicious something looks on the outside, one mistake can ruin the entire experience for a customer.

――Examine the content, not the bottle.

Because even if it looks clean on the outside… the inside might be just a piece of rag.
