Hello, this is Frank.
Today’s featured Rakuten keyword is—by choice—“Hand Soap.”
Long before COVID-19 became a global headline, I’ve been washing my hands religiously: after using the restroom, taking out the trash, before boiling water, after breakfast, upon returning home—you name it. It’s a habit I refuse to skip.
Without revealing too much about my fellow men, I have to say—many men leave public restrooms without washing their hands. And honestly, I’d rather not shake hands with them. Surprisingly, a lot of these guys are the “cool and handsome” type, so ladies, take note.
Even those who do wash often skip carrying a handkerchief. When I see a businessman in a sharp suit but without one, I can’t help but think, “Didn’t his wife tell him to bring one?” or “Doesn’t he hear, ‘Honey, your handkerchief—’ on the way out?”
But let’s be real—it’s not about the wife. It’s the man’s own responsibility. From my point of view, it screams poor hygiene. That’s why, as I mentioned earlier, I avoid shaking hands—even with men—if I can.
Handwashing is the absolute basic of daily life. If someone neglects it, I’m not interested in being friends—let alone doing business—with them. Sounds harsh? Maybe. But in my experience, people careless in hygiene often cause trouble at work too.
My personal favorite is Lion’s “Kirei Kirei”. A little goes a long way, it cleans thoroughly, and it’s indispensable for me. Even before touching my computer, I make sure to wash with it.
Handwashing doesn’t just clean your hands—it refreshes your mind. If you’re interested, give it a try. Highly recommended.
