Today, I’d like to share a heartwarming and funny story I heard from the wife of a sales engineer at a Japanese company we partnered with when I was posted in Singapore.

In our hectic everyday lives, those little moments that make you smile or warm your heart can mean so much. I hope this story brings a bit of joy to your day—read to the end and enjoy!

1. Episode 1: Behind the Scenes of a Zoom Call…

My husband was always in online meetings—suited up and serious… or so it seemed. But below the camera? Yep, pajama bottoms.

One day, he suddenly stood up during a call. And what did everyone see? His favorite bear-print PJs, right on full display. I didn’t miss the quick chuckle from someone on the call (lol).

He immediately sat back down in panic. From that day forward, even the invisible parts of his outfit were business-ready. Lesson learned: Even in work mode, don’t let your guard down! Or at least wear plain pajamas!

2. Episode 2: A Surprise Return from Business Trip

Life as a trading company man means lots of travel—and less time with family.

But one day, he came home early as a surprise! While I was reading a picture book with our daughter, we suddenly heard, “I’m home!”

Our daughter froze in surprise, then burst out, “Daddy!” and jumped into his arms. He nearly teared up.

That peaceful family moment gave me a much-needed breather. And the souvenir wasn’t just chocolates—it was an adorable teddy bear! He really knows how to win his daughter’s heart!

3. Episode 3: The Great Weekend Cooking Challenge

“Let me cook dinner for a change!” said my husband—with equal parts confidence and mystery. His challenge? Authentic pasta. He looked like a real chef at the stove!

But then—boom! The tomato sauce exploded. The kitchen turned into a battlefield of red sauce. He laughed and said, “This is harder than I thought.”

We all pitched in to clean up, laughing the whole way through.

Turns out, the best spice in cooking is the memories you make.
