Hello, this is Frank.
Travel always brings unexpected memories, and here’s one from a trip I took to Mt. Daisen in Tottori Prefecture with one of my students.
While staying at a cozy pension, I had this conversation with one of the participants:
Frank:
“I almost won 600 million yen on the BIG lottery—just a few numbers off!”
Mr. K:
“That’s a sign, Frank. When your luck hits, it tends to come in waves.”
Frank:
“You really think so…?”
A few days after returning home from the trip, I stopped by a lottery stand out of boredom to check my Numbers 7 ticket… and unbelievably, I had won a small prize!
“Lucky!”
I had only bought one ticket. The odds? Practically nothing. But that’s how luck works sometimes, doesn’t it?
Maybe the gods looked down and said, “Frank, you’ve been living modestly on natto and tofu for too long. Go treat yourself to some meat for once.” (T_T)
Travel changes things. It was just a one-night, two-day trip—but a trip nonetheless.
Travel fills me with courage and energy. I already look forward to the next adventure.
