Hello, this is Frank.
After running your blog for a while, you might hit a wall — that frustrating moment when you realize: “SEO is hard…” No matter how hard you write, your traffic doesn’t grow. Your posts don’t appear on Google’s first page. Sound familiar?
Don’t worry. SEO isn’t a secret world for experts — it’s a field where anyone can succeed with the right understanding and steady practice.
Today, I’ll walk you through the fundamentals of SEO that even beginners can master to see steady results.
1.What Is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization — the process of improving your website to make it appear higher in Google search results. In short, it’s all about providing the most valuable information for the keywords your readers are searching for.
The true essence of SEO isn’t about “tricking” the search engine — it’s about delivering value to users.
As Google’s algorithms evolve, cheap tricks stop working. The best SEO strategy is still simple: write high-quality, problem-solving articles for your readers.
2.Success and Failure in SEO
- Success Example:
A blogger wrote an article targeting the keyword “study English self-taught” and gained thousands of monthly page views. Why? Because the post answered a specific reader’s question — offering real examples and personal experiences that built trust with both readers and Google. - Failure Example:
Another blogger used vague keywords like “study English hard.” The article got almost no views because the target audience wasn’t clear. In SEO, it’s vital to capture the search intent. Ambiguous keywords confuse search engines — and readers alike.
3.How to Create Effective SEO Keywords
Keywords are the heart of SEO. Understand the difference between single and long-tail (compound) keywords.
- Single Keyword: (e.g., “SEO”)
High search volume but fierce competition — hard for beginners to rank. - Long-Tail Keyword: (e.g., “SEO strategy for beginners”)
Lower volume but clearer intent. It’s easier to create content that solves real problems.
The key is to think like your reader. Imagine what they would type into Google — not what you would.
4.Crafting SEO-Friendly Titles
Your title can make or break your ranking. Remember these three points:
- Put your main keyword at the beginning (e.g., “SEO Tips for Beginners: 3 Mistakes You Should Avoid”).
- Add emotional triggers (“Don’t Miss This,” “Easiest Way,” “Proven Steps”).
- Keep it around 30–35 characters so it displays fully on mobile.
5.Can You Rank in 6 Months or a Year?
Yes, you can.
But it takes time and consistency. Google values domain trust. New blogs rarely rank overnight — but after 6 to 12 months of consistent updates and user-focused content, the results come naturally.
For example, my own site now ranks high on Google for the keyword “国連英検特A級(UN English Test Level SA) 偏差値(deviation value)” (as of November 7, 2025).
At first, I had zero traffic for three months. But by month six, I reached 100 daily views — and 1,000 after a year. SEO rewards persistence.
Search ranking is your “resume of effort.” Every small improvement today builds your success tomorrow. Keep going — your growth is inevitable.
