Hello, I’m Frank.
Every Sunday morning, I head out to buy bread. Last Sunday, I witnessed a heartwarming scene.
The young man in his early twenties, who usually sulks while delivering fruit to the greengrocer, was cheerfully assisting his father that day.
I’ve often seen this father and son duo. Nearly every Sunday morning, they arrive in a light truck to make deliveries.
――Why do I have to do this boring job?
His scowling face used to scream that message.
But this morning was different. He chatted with the shop owner, smiling brightly as he briskly unloaded fruit from cardboard boxes.
“Father and son conversed without words.”
Perhaps the son is beginning to understand the meaning behind his father’s silent dedication. There are no “uncool” jobs in this world—we all support each other in living.
The father must be quietly rejoicing in his son’s growth.
Father’s Day falls on the third Sunday of June. Though still two months away, I felt I’d received an early gift: this beautiful snapshot of life’s quiet wisdom.
Perhaps a gift like this would be nice for Father’s Day as well.
