Hello, I’m Frank.
I’d like to introduce my ultra-short story anthology, “Mirror”, a collection of subtly mysterious vignettes.
Below is a synopsis and a sneak preview from the fifth story. I hope you enjoy it.
【Synopsis】
The story begins with the arrival of a woman.
Aside from the ending, there are only two characters.
At just about 2,409 characters in length, it’s an ultra-short story.
Yet, it evokes scenes as vivid as a full-length short story.
This is the fifth work in a “slightly mysterious” anthology tinged with loneliness.

【Sneak Peek】
That day, I gave a woman a ride as usual.
I remember it being quite cold.
There was nothing particularly unusual, except for a small photo album tucked into the dashboard in front of the passenger seat…
Bam!
The rear door slammed shut.
In the rearview mirror, I saw a woman with heavy makeup.
“Heave-ho.”
Her strong perfume made me want to roll down the window.
“Sorry to impose,” she said.
“No worries,” I replied.
A mismatched luxury brand bag hung on her shoulder.
She misunderstood the meaning of beauty — a typical ‘obatarian’.
Her destination: the tennis court where my wife used to play…
