Hello, this is Frank.
Let’s start with a powerful quote from former American boxing champion Mike Tyson.
“I’m addicted to perfection. Problem with my life is, I was always also addicted to chaos. Perfect chaos.” ―Mike Tyson, reflecting on his erratic behavior during his peak, 23 years ago.
Now, have you ever come across the word “impeccable”? It means “faultless” or “perfect.”
But if you remove the prefix “im-”, you’re left with “peccable”—a rarely used word meaning “prone to sin” or “capable of doing wrong.”
The more one strives for perfection, the more intense the chaos can become. Tyson’s erratic behavior may have been a psychological response—a way of restoring balance in his inner world.
As for someone like me—just a regular person—I can’t even tell when chaos visited my life. But I do know one thing: the further the pendulum swings toward perfection, the harder it swings back.
“Perfection” and “chaos.” The pursuit of flawlessness often comes at the cost of emotional stability. Tyson’s life, his words, and his downfall all taught me that balance is everything.
