【Wellness】Warm Your Bones, Ease Your Mind: A New Way to Handle Stress

Hello, this is O-Hana Fantasia 🌸

Have you ever noticed how your body tenses up when you’re under stress? That tension can lead to stiffness, poor circulation, and eventually—you guessed it—feeling cold inside out.

Of course, tackling the root cause of stress is essential. But alongside that, there’s something surprisingly simple you can do: Warm your bones.

It might sound poetic, even a bit random, but hear me out. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and I’d love for you to consider it too. I have a few practical ideas to share, so if this piques your interest, please read on.

If we start with the idea of warming the bones, it makes sense that keeping your indoor environment warm can help buffer the effects of stress.

And while strength training mostly targets muscles, it’s also working your bones. So if you’re doing regular workouts, chances are you’re already helping your bones stay active and not stagnant or cold.

Still, even active bones and muscles can lean toward stiffness when they’re constantly being pushed, whether from training or tension. That’s why I believe gently warming your bones every day might be a key to staying soft, relaxed, and stress-free—both physically and mentally.

Stress aside, the idea is simple:

Warm your bones.

Some ways to do that? Well, here’s a list I brainstormed—feel free to pick whatever feels easiest for you:

  • Taking a sauna, soaking in a hot spring, or just a cozy bath at home
  • Setting your heater or AC to a warmer temperature
  • Using electric carpets or heated blankets
  • Wearing breathable socks that keep your feet warm without sweat
  • Using leg warmers (yes, even for men!) or ankle warmers
  • Sleeping in warm, comfy clothes

These are small things, but they add up.

Here’s a personal tip: once, I happened to drink some lemongrass tea when I had sore muscles—and oddly enough, the soreness eased a bit. Total coincidence? Maybe. But why not try it?

My next experiment is this: soaking in a hot bath, sipping warm lemongrass tea afterwards, and the next day—after a workout—massaging my body with a cream infused with lemongrass essential oil. Sounds nice, right?

If you give it a go, let me know how it works for you!

I especially recommend this to busy office workers who usually don’t do “these kinds of things.” You don’t have to overdo it—just take care of your body, make it a bit softer, and you’ll be able to work better without pushing yourself too hard.

To sum it up:

  • Create an environment where your bones stay warm
  • If you’re working out, don’t forget to warm and soften your muscles and bones, too

See you in the next post 🌸
