Hello, this is Frank.
Today, I want to casually introduce a few fascinating people I once worked with in Japanese trading companies. The vibe? Think: “Ever met these kinds of professionals?”
It’s been about seven years since I last heard from them, so honestly, I have no idea where they are now. We’re not in touch anymore. But I believe their stories might inspire you—especially if you’re navigating your career choices, job hunting, or even planning a switch. So here we go.
【Mr. A】Worked at an Export-Focused Trading Company
A big fan of physical activity and an outdoor enthusiast. He frequently joined sports events and even enjoyed cooking. He was single and full of energy—always out on weekends enjoying the outdoors. If I remember correctly, he graduated from a foreign language university.
【Ms. B】Worked at a Textile Trading Company
Extremely active and fearless. She had no issues going on international business trips solo. After gaining sales experience, she told me she planned to study in the U.S. for a year. I bet she’s thriving in her career now, expanding her global footprint.
【Mr. C】Worked at an Electronics Trading Firm
Constantly on business trips across Japan—rarely at his desk. Unlike me, he was very serious and straight-laced. A stand-up guy, and yes, definitely the “popular” type. Sorry to the romantics out there—he was married.
【Ms. D】Worked at a Major General Trading Company
At the time, she hadn’t gone on any international assignments yet, but she had over five years of trade operations experience in Tokyo and Osaka. I imagine she’s flying around the world now, using her fluent English. She carried herself with elegance.
Of course, there are many more remarkable people in this world of trading. I’ll share more stories whenever someone interesting pops into mind.
