Hi, there!

An old adage goes, “Money is the root of all evil.” Is that true?

There are scads of jargon related to money, especially in politics;
plutocracy, vested interests, bribes, corruption scams, phony busi-
ness trips, pork-barrel spending, say, too numerous to comprehen-
sively list here.

However, we must realize that money talks, but it is the humans
who stigmatize money itself. In the corporate world, money is es-
sential, and without greens, there is no raison d’être for companies
to drive their business.

Drive your money. Don’t let money drive you.

Today, let me challenge a word problem concerning the “root” of
the second root.

If \(x\) is equal to \(\frac{\sqrt{2} – 4}{2}\), find \(x^{2} + 4x + \frac{1}{x + 2} + 4\).

Here is my solution the problem.

\(x^{2} + 4x + \frac{1}{x + 2} + 4 = (x + 2)^{2} + \frac{1}{x + 2}\)
\(x = \frac{\sqrt{2} – 4}{2} = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2} – 2\)
\(x + 2 = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}\)

Thus, \((\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2})^{2} + \frac{2}{\sqrt{2}} = \frac{1}{2} + \sqrt{2}\)

Don’t be angry at money; instead, “root out” corrupt politicians.
