Each time he uttered those words, it was Mr. Vibrissa himself who plucked the hairs from his nose.

Thirty-five years ago, in the second semester of my sophomore year of high school, I eagerly anticipated witnessing his habitual gestures. My enthusiasm for learning had waned, and my only solace lay in observing his peculiar routines.

During my first year of high school, I managed to keep pace with classes without much studying. However, as I entered my second year, keeping up with my peers became markedly challenging, pushing me to the brink of surrender. Adding to the struggle were the burgeoning romantic feelings of the time, which further impeded my focus. Positioned at the very back of the classroom, I harbored a subtle crush on a girl, effortlessly navigating through life with her blood type B charm. Seated diagonally in front of me, I found myself captivated by her, often losing myself in thought during class.
