Have you ever heard the “KISS principle”? … Give me a break! What you’ve thought is wrong! It doesn’t mean the way that a man and woman indulge in affectionate familiarities, kiss, and hug each other.
This provocative word means, in fact, “Keep it short and simple” in business scenes. Indeed, business persons sometimes should elaborate on something to convince counterparts, not in a nutshell; however, what matters most in the corporate world is “to be brief but to the point.”
I often find wordy or verbose essays written by students in my EIKEN® Grade 1 class. Their reports are inclined to be prosaic and far-reaching from the bottom line. They usually become unclear or equivocal, and their thoughtfulness to any contentious issues proves their ruin.
Let’s speak and write plain English! You may be flabbergasted to see how I can simplify the following intricate formula.
\(tan(45° + \theta)tan(45° – \theta)tan30° (0° < \theta < 45°)\)
Here is my solution to the problem.
First of all, think of \((45° + \theta) + (45° – \theta)\), and remember \(tan(90° – \theta) = \frac{1}{tan\theta}\)
\(tan(45° + \theta)tan(45° – \theta)tan30° (0° < \theta < 45°)\)
\(= tan\displaystyle\left\{90° – (45° – \theta)\right\}tan(45° – \theta)tan30°\)
\(= \frac{1}{tan(45° – \theta)}・tan(45° – \theta)tan30°\)
\(= tan30°\)
\(= \frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}\)
