Hi there!

Do you have scads of pending matters at the office? The backlog is your pain in the neck? Don’t worry. It’s a commonplace sight in the corporate world.

At my trading company, how soon you can handle pending matters influenced my job assessment and endorsed part of my job performance of a high caliber. Managers always watched and saw whose pending box had less stack of documents to be dealt with.

One of my seniors was incredibly cunny and threw his pending letters or telexes into my task box that had yet to answer when leaving the office. What a class act, you know. Nice guys finish last.

I’m now self-employed and have no worries about a bunch of backlogs. Given my current flexibility, let me challenge the differentiation of a log function.

Differentiate the log function \(y = (\log x)^{3}\).

Here is my solution to the problem.

Let’s use the composite function.
Put \(\log\,x = u\), then \(y = u^{3}\).

\(\frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{dy}{du}・\frac{du}{dx} = 3u^{2}・\frac{1}{x} = \frac{3(log\,x)^{2}}{x}\)
